Common questions

EV charger FAQs

Can an EV charger use excess solar?

Yes. Solar-smart models such as selected Zappi and Evnex chargers can be configured to use available solar that would otherwise be exported to the grid.

What is the difference between single-phase and three-phase charging?

A single-phase home charger normally supplies up to 7 kW. A compatible three-phase charger can supply up to 22 kW, although the vehicle’s onboard charger determines the maximum speed it can accept.

Can you install the charger that came with my car?

Usually, yes. Send the model details and photos of the proposed location so we can confirm the circuit, protection and installation requirements.
